Amman, March 23 – The Crown Prince Foundation held a dialogue session on Saturday titled “The Impactful Role of Women in Volunteerism” at Al Hussein Cultural Center, as part of Nahno’s activities. Nahno, the national platform for youth engagement and volunteering, is one of the Foundation’s programs under the Pathway to Sustainable Community Development, and is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth with support from UNICEF.
The session hosted social activist and entrepreneur Manal Al-Wazani and founding member and CEO of the Jordanian Business and Professional Women’s Club Association Thanaa Al-Khasawneh. The discussion was moderated by journalist Mais Al-Noubani.
Attended by more than 150 youth from across the Kingdom, the session highlighted key topics related to the role of women in society through volunteerism and its impact on achieving sustainable development. It also explored the challenges women face in this field and discussed ways to enhance their participation in community initiatives, while showcasing success stories and personal experiences shared by the speakers.
At the end of the session, an interactive discussion took place between the audience and the speakers, during which several questions were raised about empowering women in volunteer work, the challenges faced by female volunteers, and strategies to increase the participation of girls and women in development and social entrepreneurship.
It is worth noting that since its launch in 2019, Nahno has served as a national umbrella for organizing youth volunteerism in Jordan, operating in accordance with the Jordanian Volunteerism Charter. To date, the platform has partnered with over 3,142 organizations and has more than 193,000 registered volunteers, who have collectively contributed over 5.7 million volunteer hours across the Kingdom.
